This final thesis project was conceived as a foldable and knock-down sofa. Many people are simply not able to own a sofa because they are either moving often or their home is too small. I wanted to address these issues by designing a sofa that was easy to store and transport, and can be used both indoors and outdoors. It is made of beech wood and canvas to keep the object light, without compromising its quality. It can be fully broken down and wrapped in its own canvas for easy transportation outside the home, and it can also be folded up to quickly free up space indoors. Comfortable seating is achieved by tensioning the canvas, simulating the feel of upholstery without using foam.
